A2 Evaluation tasks

Evaluation Task 1 - In What Ways Does Your Media Product Use, Develop or Challenge Forms of Conventions from Real Media Products

Use the 9 frame template to choose 9 images as evidence. You need to explain how you have used or challenged film genre conventions, conventions of trailers, posters and film magazines. you need to refer back to your research of all of these.

Evaluation Task 2 - How Effective is the Combination of Your Main Product and Ancillary Texts?

Use the prompts to record a voice over to accompany your trailer and images of your print texts. Put your script on the blog as an alternative to listening.

Evaluation Task 3 - What Have You Learnt From Your Audience Feedback?

Ideally you will have kept a record of your changes in all 3 texts. You need to document the feed back you received whether formally or informally from teachers and students and explain the reasons for your changes and evaluate the success of each change.

Evaluation Task 4 - How Did You Use New Media Technologies in the Construction, Research, Planning and Evaluation Stages

This is very similar to what you did last year with the addition of Photoshop for the print texts. Remember a tripod is not new technology! Use photos and screen grabs as evidence. Think about the range of websites you used and social media in particular.

What common elements are in your 3 texts?
Which characters did you choose to feature on your print texts? Why? What poses/clothes/mise en scene suggest their personalities?
Are there any relationships suggested?
Which narratives did you include in your print texts?
How did these attract the audience?
Which film genre conventions did you emphasize in your print texts?
Other synergistic features may be fonts, colours, words, themes. Which of these show synergy between your texts?
Which effects did you use? How do these link with your film?
How does any institutional information link (production company, certificate, schedule)
Evaluate the effectiveness of your campaign as a conclusion
